Payment & Refund Policy

1. Payment Terms

Secure Checkout

All payments are processed through Stripe. We accept major debit/credit cards and any local payment methods Stripe supports in your country.

Every transaction is SSL-encrypted and PCI-DSS compliant.

Escrow Protection

When you book a lesson, the fee is held in escrow until the session ends or is cancelled.

Funds are released to the tutor 24 hours after lesson completion, unless you request a refund (see Section 3).

Pricing & Currency

Prices are displayed in the currency you select at checkout.

VAT or other taxes are shown before you confirm payment and itemised on your receipt.

For lesson bundles, the total price is charged upfront but each lesson remains individually refundable (Section 3).

Invoices

A VAT-compliant invoice is generated automatically and emailed to you after every payment.

You can also download past invoices from Account › Billing.

2. Cancellations

- Student cancels ≥ 1 hours before start : Full automatic refund to original payment method

- Student cancels < 1> before start : You may still request a refund—see Section 3

- Tutor cancels at any time : Full automatic refund or free reschedule

3. No-Questions-Asked Refund Guarantee

We stand behind every lesson. If you ask for a refund, we grant it—no questions asked.

How it works

Email support@foundtutor.com.

Specify the lesson(s) you want refunded.

We reverse the charge within one business day.

Card payments: 3–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.

Wallet/local methods: timeframes vary by provider.

Scope

Applies to single lessons and any unused lessons in a bundle.

You may request a refund at any time after payment—there is no expiry window.

Partial refunds for completed bundle lessons: we refund the unused portion at the pro-rated bundle rate.

4. Chargebacks & Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback before requesting a refund, our support team may contact you to resolve the issue.

We reserve the right to suspend accounts involved in fraudulent disputes.

5. Tutor Compensation

Tutors are paid only after the 24-hour escrow window closes and no refund request is active for that lesson.

If a refund is granted after payout, FoundTutor—not the student—absorbs the cost. Tutors keep their earnings.
